hi all

i have an albino bristle nose which i have had for over a year, every now and then it plays dead, itll lay on its back on the sand under adrift wood looking dead.first time i noticed it was christmas day just gone and i thought i had lost it.it does it every now and then and its horrible to see even thou you now its fine.

does anyone elses fish do this ?

my kuhli loaches play dead all the time, but I've never noticed my BNs doing it.

its def not attached when it does it,sleeping was my thought.it almost looks like it has been attached underneath drift wood, fallen asleep and then slipped off and just stayed there on the sand.if you go for a closer look its doesnt move away or get spooked but you can see gills moving.it did it last night for about 10 minutes then just moved on.i also have a black bristle which i havent seen it do this.very strange and very shocking to watch.

Photos would be fun to see.

My pleco does that....he's kinda weird lol. But it makes for some entertainment. After he plays dead, he'll spaz out and swim circles around the tank. After a couple of laps, he's go back to eating the stuff on the bottom of the tank. I have never figured out why he does that, but I do get a good giggle when I see it.

shame i didnt get a photo last night as it done it near the front of the tank,i shall keep watching out and get a picture,it not fun to watch even thou its done times before it still makes me wonder if its still alive!!

Yeah I would get scared after a while because what if he really did die! ;)

Yes! except for me, my guy is an albino weather loach (looks more like an eel) anyway, one day I was looking around the tank and he was lying on
top of the rocks, upside down, and slighlty moving with the the flow of the water (near the filter and air)... When I saw this, I thought he WAS dead!
:hyper:

Then I got out my water test kit to check the parameters right away and as I was doing that, he swam right in front of me - where I was standing....
I was pleasantly surprised to say the least! :good: Funny though how they do that upside down - that's the kicker

Don't think like that man. It will only make it worse...
