Does a platy's gravis spot apear at the beginning of pregnancy or the end or what?? Also, does the gravid spot get darker and/or bigger as time passes?

i think its apears when they are pregnant and its gets biggger and darker well that what i have seen on my guppys but i havnt seen a gravid spot on any of my platys!!
