I know I'm asking a lot of questions about this but.....
how long is it before platys have their babies??
also...once they have babies for the first time, will they have more without mating again??

Takes 3 - 4 weeks after getting exposed from the male for them to have babies, and majority of the time "yes" you won't need the male for the second round...

I thought it was only guppy who gave birth every month an dtaht the other livebeaers give bither around every 6 to 8 weeks!!! and that only guppys can store sprem to make her sel pregnant again!! i might be wrong but  thats what i read hehehe

That couldn't be true cause my mollie had babies 1 month ago and about several days ago she had another litter, and with platties the same thing. So I don't think that's possible... I thought the same thing about the guppies cause one website I recently went to was about guppies and the other website I went to said live bearers in general. but I learned from this one website " let me see if I can find it on my search engine" but they stated any live bearer was capable of doing this. I just started looking at fish websites about a week ago, and this is where I was refilled with information. But 2 years ago I was more able to tell and talk about fish but every day I'm site searching for information and I look at peoples posts. 2 things could be wrong here 1. the website was wrong or 2. I misread it and posted false information. But that lies right by where the rules or what ever " don't believe everything you read"...
