Will platys eat peas? I know vegetable matter is good for them just wanted to know if anyone feeds theirs peas...Thanks.

Drew

mine completely demolish them. :hyper: greedy swines, cucumber with the skin chopped off is a fav for mine, drag it round the tank like ive never seen before, have to put in 2 pieces to stop fighting

I never ever thought of feeding my platies peas! but thanks to you lot i have tried it and they LOVE it! they pounced on each piece of pea and it was gone within seconds!

Thanks guys! you have made my platies one happy bunch!

Lol! I had a question though, when you say cucumber, do you put in a whole slice of cucumber? Or do you chop it finely? Many people have mentioned putting in fresh veggies but its always confused me as to how they are to be presented to the fishies

Cucumbers are usually just chopped to make a small 1/2-1 inch slice. Sometimes people blanch theirs, others just sink it to the the side or bottom with a veggie clip. Whatever works for you. Hope that helps.

most fish eat peas, its very good for them especially if constipated, as for cucumber i cut off a slice about 1cm thick, stick a stainless steel spoon through it and put it in the tank, my guppies, bettas, neons and shrimp eat it :good:
