I am setting up a community tank and am learning about "pecking order in fish". I think I solved a problem with my Pearl Gourami chasing the Corys but now I have a Platy problem. I purchased two female Sunset Platys and they are currently in quarantine. I do not want a bunch of baby platys hence the purchase of only females. One mercilessly bullys the other. No physical damage just chasing and making the other hide all the time. I have separated them for now. When I put them in the larger community tank (29 gallons) with other fish might this stop or do I need to purchase a third platy or do I just have a bully on my hands. I thought platys were gentle fish?? Thanks for your input.
