about an hour and a half ago i brought 5 platys and 1 of them has gills which point outwords wat is it and can i do any thing for it plz help!?

Take a photo, post it here. I'm guessing it's a really thin, malnourished platy and it just looks like the gill covers are pointing out...

Are the gills pale or red and inflamed, is the fish heavy breathing, also is it flicking and rubbing on objects.

its at the top a lot and the gills look inflamed.i dont tink its a young 1 guessing by its size. sorry i cant take a pic.

Sounds like the fish has gill flukes, you will need this med.

Also if you have no scaless fish add some salt to the tank one tablespoon to 5gal.

Wilder - What are gill flukes now? Oh my gosh! From what your describing my platties seem like they have this!
The parasite clear tank buddies says it will cure this.....

Wouldn't worry the med will kill the gill parasites, red inflamed gills or pale, heavy breathing and flicking and rubbing on objects, i have a med that treat gill flukes and internal worms so if it says it cures gill flukes don't worry.
