I am finding that one male platy just chases a Platy and I find the chased one dead next day . Is there anything I can do except get rid of that male? He was an original member before I added females.

was it him that killed it if so there s nothing you can do so you will have to get rid of him or keep him in a different tank , but make sure first

How many females to that male? She could have died from stress, or, depending on when she was added, from her condition at the lfs. You might want to add mroe females/hiding places, rather than getting rid of him.

No more deaths so maybe they were ill or stressed out. I am unsure but will keep an eye on him. There are loads of places plants, a ship wreck a tunnel and areas others go. I am scared to put too much in as it takes swimming space away and the guppies do like a swim. I am not buying any more as my guppies and platys are all in the club (pregnant). I only have one small tank for fry . I guess hubby after buying my Rio 400 which I have larger fish in will not buy another tank. I am closly observing . h has settled since that last one went I have moved all the furniture if you can call it that and did a larger water change due to tank leaking due to filter stuck. oh dear. Thought this was to be les time consuming . I am thinking live bearers are hard work . Love my tropicals.

:rip: "insert platy's name here", poor guy, I HATE DEAD FISH :-(

Me too. Death is not nice and all mine seem to wait until the night. Only once did I sit up all night with one Gourami. oooooooooh I miss them too soft
