Platy question

Hi,
I'm very new to this. I really want my platy's to breed, but if the female is running from the male while he is chasing her, are they still mating or no. Does she have to participate in that. Thanks for your input. Also I think one of my sunset platy's pregnant but the gravid spot is so big, that's if it's one at all. It's something there that's dark and small.

Is the sunset fat?
It could be pregnant but if the spot is just a naturaly spot, then it would be hard to tell

Actually it isn't fat, but they seem to be alot bigger then my tuxedos. That spot is on the inside and seems like it is just starting to show. So the female always run, I thought maybe they would actually spawn like I've seen some egg layers?

Females tend to grow bigger and faster than males

I think your platy is not pregnant but keep an eye on it
