I have had 3 Platy’s in a 2 week span develop what looks like a hump (but could be their stomach sunken in and giving the appearance of a hump) something white/clear hanging from anus, I’m guessing it’s poop and then die …None of the other fish or shrimp seem to be affected.

New….. most recent Platy had white fuzzy stuff on head and acted like he could not move tail fin and tail fin remained clamped and not fanned out

The tank is 6 months old 75gal planted, fluval substrate, canister filter C02 injection.

Occupants are ….Platies , guppies , cherry shrimp and mystery snails

Probably an internal protozoan infection. Metronidazole is normally the medication of choice.

Don't add anything to the tank for a month and see how the remaining fish go.
If no more fish get sick or die, then get some more fish if you want.
Try to quarantine new fish for at least 2 (preferably 4) weeks before adding them to a display tank.

The following link has more information on fish doing stringy white poop.
