Platy Pairs

Hello!
I have 4 Platies in my tank. They are always in the same pairs. I think they are male and female based by their colors, each pair has 1 that is almost completely orange(female?) and 1 that is orange body with black spots with an almost completely black tail(male?). The ones that I assume are male chase away the other Platies if they get too close. could the ones that I believe to be female be pregnant and the males just protect them while they are? They seem bigger but I don't know if they've actually grown or if they are pregnant. I will include a pictures.

It's hard to see the anal fins from your pics. I have never seen my male be protective of the female. The opposite really. Just hassle her all the time.

The ones with less black have that round fin. I think they might be pregnant then. The ones with the more black have the pointed fin.

If you have any male and any female Platy in a tank then the females are nearly always pregnant. Mine had been dropping fry every month.
