I have 13+ platy fry and a guppy fry Ive been giving them First Bites, Brine Shrimp, and Crushed flake food. any other ideas they grown a lot for only 4 weeks specially the guppy fry. almost all are red wag platys one is a clear reddish brown probably Various Platy the guppy is a cross between a wild guppy and a fancy i think. I put mystery snails in yesterday to eat any dead babies that did not make the move from a breeding trap to the 10 gallon and to eat the brine shrimp on the bottom. ive been trying to find homes for all the fry but thats not doing well i only have one person and she probably going to take only 1.

The diet you have been feeding them on seems fine mate. The guppy will grow faster than the platties, but neither are particularly fast growers. They will need to be grown on for at least 2 or 3 months depending on progress before they can be sold on. As for moving them on, try some lfs to see if they would be interested in a few. Ebay and other selling sites are always handy to bare in mind.

Good luck!!

Finding a new home for fry means having a network of people of who are also fish keepers. For me that means participating in my local fish club. By doing so I can easily contact other fish keepers who may be interested in my surplus fish, but even more useful is the club auctions that I become aware of as a club member. I regularly show up at auctions for nearby clubs and even have this weekend been attending a national association's convention including its auction. Since I have about 22 tanks of livebearers that regularly produce lots of surplus fry, these contacts for distributing those fry are essential. Otherwise my tanks would be completely over-run by fry.
Have a look around and find out what local clubs may exist for you. We have links to many of them right here on TFF at this location.
