Platty When Will She Be Ready ?

ok im sure my platy is pregnant she has a black spot gravid spot. she has gotten very big also she is acting normal eating but she keeps going into the log i have at the bottom today and staying very still and as soon as another fish comes along she comes out and swims around again my other tank is not ready to put her in yet but i do have a few molly fry in a net so i was going to transfer them over to the plastic floating box and put her in the net i will put a pic up if any one can tell me if they think she is far enough along to put her in there ??? i cant keep her in the tank as i have alot of other fish and not many plant's xxx

Is that a dwarf platy? I have a dwarf platy that looks exactly the same! I'm still determining if she's pregnant or not. Her gravid spot is weird....on one side of her it appears very dark as if she were pregnant, the other side is that orange/pinkish color. Her stomach is very large and she behaves the same way. A little more active than yours though. I have other live bearers who I have experience with so I'm assuming yours adn mine are both pregnant and due soon. The gravid spot on mine though just gets me. It's weird. Well, congrats on your new fry when they arrive!

yes she is and thats true the gravid spot is darker on one side then a redish pink the other not to sure why it was black both sides before but over the last few days its gone like that i think she is defentley pregnant thoe as she has gone so huge and looking at her closley you can see all the lil black dots and they do look like the eyes im just hoping she hasnt let a few out and thats maybe why the gravid spot is not so big? and thanxs for you reply : )

It looks as if its ready any day soon, keep a eye on her for dwelling, hanging around heater, internal filter, being very unsocial and static in movement.
