Look at the colours on my 5 week old platty fry here this one is light blue with some dark blue spots but her top fin is a red/orange colour its a great variant of colouring what ive not seen before?

nice fish you got there, good luck with rearing them and soon your be granparents ;)

I had one like this he was blue mickey mouse platy with orange fins. they grow up to be beautiful congratulations x

One of my adult females looks a bit like that, she has dark edge on her anal fin just like that fry.

Is it just me or is the top right fry (first photo) spotty? I have a red dalmatian and loads of her fry. I'm currently working with two rare strains or I would select for lighter fry and try to breed a pink dalmatian. But that fry seems to have gotten its spots younger than mine, most of my dali fry don't get spots for six weeks after they're born.

platy fry seem to get their colours really early i have about 40 all with spots only a couple of days old

Those ones are usually sold as: Platy Variatus( at my lfs's). But nice fish none the less!!!!!!!!!!!

You reckon that's a variatus? It seems to have the maculatus body shape to me.

A lot of mine are born red or pink and darken as they get older. My yellow tuxedo throws black and white fry which colour up at two months without fail - most are pink, yellow, orange or red tuxedos.
