We just added three orange and black platies to a 20 gal tank that has a few guppies and a pair fo black mollies. One of the female platies seems to like laying on the bottom of the tank not moving for long periods of time, or laying in the plants. I thought she was near death, but when the light is turned off she swims all over the place. She is eating at feeding time with the others - but is acting like a "loner" or maybe "sulking". Twice I was so sure she was dead I got the net, but that made her swim normal. Any ideas? All the other fish are fine and happy.

She is obviously not doing too well. Try adding some salt into the tank and put in some medication to treat bacterial infection.

if you are going to add medication I would seperate her in a bowl when you do it. ne need to add the stress of medications to healthy fish. a slt bath for her couldn't hurt though. what are your water parameters? ph, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate? what is the water temp? are her fins clamped? she may have dropsy...
