I have 4 platies, 3 of whom seem to spend a large amount of time hiding under bogwood or up behind the filter.

I have 6 baby platies in the tank also ( 20G ) which are the offspring of one of the 4.

I thought that all of the adults were females as they certainly seem to have triangular anal fins and the guy in the LFS said they were females.

So how come i ended up with 30 odd babies that i had to return last week ? Could one of the adults be a male in disguise which is stressing the others ?

My water stats are fine and the fish otherwise seem healthy.

maybe its because you have bogwood in your tank. bogwood makes the water go acidic and platie prefere hard alcaline.

if you have only just got them, they may need a few days to settle in, are there any other fish in the tank?

definatly looks like when you bought it was already pregnant i have seperated mine of from the males and continue to give me fry every few weeks
