Platies and guppies

I was wondering if anyone who has kept both platies and guppies could tell me which they prefer and why. I have more experience with platies but am thinking about keeping and breeding guppies.

What are the advantages of both?

Well, they are both really great, I have both...
But the guppies are privileged, they're in my bedroom. I guess that's just because of their beautiful, different colors,...
As for fun to watch, platies as just as much fun, very lively, both of them...
And as for breeding, I like guppies better, all the colors and kinds of tails, so exciting to wait how they turn out...

Platys and guppies....I love them both. I love my blue highfin mickey mouse platy girl,she's a baby factory. I love my guppies too...It's always fun to see their colors come in. Same goes for the platys. Never know what you're ganna get!

Pro for guppy: The guppy males are far more colorful than the platies.
Con for guppy: My male betta followed my male guppy around when they were together. The betta seemed a bit confused, so I didn't want it to start nipping at the guppy.

Platy Pro: Prolific livebearers, really active.
Platy Con: Scare easily in smaller tanks. My females died after giving birth, so they seem to be very week after dropping fry.

hehe i like guppies the most. but i recently got 2 platy females.

i prefer watching the guppies more then the platies much more colorful. but they are both good fish.

I love guppies. They're always a variety in colours, patterns, and tail sizes and when the fry are born they all look the same so you never know what your going to get . Waiting to see the colours just kills your patience but it's exciting at the same time. Only con I'd say is how fast they multiply(you end up with tons of fry) but i guess that could go for platies too. Besides that my guppies get along with all my fish
