Fish Fanatic
I have two platies and 1 silver mollie...recently, the platies have had something wierd with them..I have absolutely no idea what it is...it looks as if theyre sheeding the scales...i read about a fungus called body slime fungus....does this look cloudy..because what mine have does not..i though for a while it could be dropsy, you know pine cone effect and all...but it's only 1 scale on each fish...I added salt to the water and turned the temp up to 79 because 1 read that is the highest the platies can handle? I was also thinking...do fish shed their scales naturally...maybe it's a cut i can see behind where the scale sticks out and you can see the "skin" under the scales, it does not go into the body cavity...I treated the whole tank cause I figured if the platies giot it the molly probably will if he hasn't already, it would be sorta harder to see it on him since he's a silver mollie and so you can't really see anything white on his skin...I was thinking too that maybe the mollie attacked the other fish and caused this as he'sorta agressive..maybe I should add another mollie so he doesn't take out all his wrath o the platies...my tank has fully cycled and that's what I was originally contemplating doing this weekend until this whole thing came up...do any of you have any pics of body dlime fungus.... maybe it's that..if so, am I doing the right thing, I have something to treat it, but it says to take out the carbon from the filter...what does that mean???
thanx for the help!!!! ![Big Grin :D :D](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
