Hey I recently added an assortment of plastic plants to my aquarium to "liven" things up. Prior to the addition I only had live rock and my LFS said the plastic plants were fine, but require weekly cleaning. What are your opinions on this?

Yeah just whirl them around in some water when they get dirty, not a fan of plastic plants myself, like silk as they look more real in the water

Sounds pricey, how much would about 2 large, 3 medium and 3 small silk plants cost?

They are really cheap, well sorta
in my LFS they do something like 2 large 3med 3 small for about 7.99 (pounds), they are called silk something
the large ones are about 18" tall i think and you can buy jusr 3 big ones or a mix between they have a variety. Im sure they have some on ebay, worth a look

pointless, plastic plants do not belong in the marine aquarium, when you get your living rock providing conditions are right things will start to grow, anyhow you are going to use tap water, you will see a lot ot nusience algea it will soon cover everything as phosphates will be in your aquarium, your only hope without ro-di is rowaphos in bags and lots of water changes

your right betta5 for some reason i thought you started this thread, thats because i have been talking to you all night, your quite right
