**Sorry about the spelling of betta at the top!  Autocorrect changed it and I didn't realise!

I am looking at setting up a betta tank with my spare 8 gallon.  I am planning on buying all of my plants from http://warehouse-aquatics.co.uk and a lot of their silk plants are out of stock at the moment.  I am only using artificial plants as the lighting in this tank is rubbish

and certainly won't grow most plants

I have found a couple of silk plants I like and will get, but would any of the following plastic plants be too harsh on a betta's fins (I read that some plastic plants are soft enough to be used).

I think you should skip the plastic plants in my opinion. Like you stated before it may cause fin tears, more so if your getting a new betta as he'll try hiding in them when he feels scared.
There are low light plants that will work, I'd suggest java moss and hornwort/fanwort. Just place the tank near a window, but not directly in the sunlight.
Post pics when you can, always enjoy seeing other individual's betta tanks.

Although I highly recommend searching for a low light alternative like java fern (mentioned above) or anubias, some plastic plants are ok.  The best way to know if they are ok is to test them with a piece of pantyhose/nylon.  Just run it over the plant, if it snags the material, then it will snag betta fins.  Hope this helps.

It looks like the Winter Fern and Kamish will have to go...but the other ones look great.  I use plastic plants in my betta tank and have never had a problem.
Good luck!
