Anyone know what they are called? They are plastic and you put the new fish in and it floats in your tank & gradually lets in the tank water then eventually sinks to the bottom releasing the new fish. Ive tried to google it but nothings coming up?

I have one of those, its in the garage now, never use it. It was an obscure brand that i cant remember and I'm sure it was marked up as a fish "trap" of sorts. Maidenhead Aquatics sell them, at least that's where mine came from. Sorry cant help any more :|

Ah, google "Fintro" that was the brand/item name

PS, there is a good reason why its in the garage now (or i might have binned it).

Maidenhead Aquatics have their own branded version of these

....don't see the point myself, just use the old bag and add water method, save your money.

Using this will also mean the LFS water will also end up into the tank, thought this was a bad idea?

It's impossible to avoid some LFS water getting in your tank anyway, unless you dry the fish off with a towel before you put them in!

Honestly, the worse that's going be in LFS water is perhaps a touch of ammonia, which your filter would soon deal with and high nitrate (every LFS water I've ever tested has had massively high nitrate), but the volume is so small compared to the tank, it's not going to cause issues.

If there are parasites or whatever they're going to be on the fish anyway; another good reason to quarantine.

Thanks guys! Unfortunately Maidenhead Aquatics dont sell them online and there isnt a store near me - no one else seems to have them.
