Fish Crazy
Alright, like i've mentioned in my previous post, I just got a new betta. I have some live plants in there. I planted them into the gravel, and made sure the water was aged and cleaned. ("aged" meaning I let the water sit for a few days) So, it has been three days. Betta doing fine, eating well, still getting used to the new home. The thing not doing well are the plants. They appear to be rotting. But it isn't THAT rotting. ummm....this is very hard to explain. Okay, i'll try. When I turned the lamp on and looked into the container today, all of the leaves of my plants appeared dirty and dusty. They had little.....uh....."strings" on top of them, floating up. It looks very much like dust on a table, except on a leaf and stem. The leaf itself is not rotting. No holes. I don't normally light my container, I just let it sit in a room. But not much light. I heard that bettas do not like light put directly over their bowls. Also, I looked into the water and it appeared somewhat cloudy instead of clear. Could all of these things somehow have a connection? I tapped the plants with a straw, and some of the dust stuff fell off and floated somewhere else. I keep my container covered with a lid with holes in it. My betta always rests on the leaves, so i'm afraid that this is not healthy. Any possible info? I'm confused.
