Hi all! I have just started planting my tanks. My lfs's have terrible selection so I am going to try getting plants online. i have a very small budget and am hoping someone can point me to a few places that have reasonable prices and shipping but also a good selection of low tech plants! I may be asking too much! Looked at ebay too but am wary of buying with out knowing if the sellers are ok. Thank you!
If you're anywhere near a Petco, they have aquarium plants in plastic tubes, which is great because they're healthy and don't have any hitchhikers like snails. They're reasonably priced as well. Just don't get any green/white striped ones with pointed leaves (dracaena) because they aren't made for aquariums. All the rest we got there were fine.
Petsupermarket will often sell fabulous cryptocorynes. Especially C. spiralis.
Another thing to look for is in Petsmart. In some locations, they are selling tissue-culture plants. I snapped some photos the other day.

Was very tempted to pick up a packet, divide the plants and plant them. I may still try it out.

I'm sorry, right now, I'm still in the process of trying to find a good online source for live plants in the US. I've been disappointed with the biggest online retailer recently.
Petco is about 5 mins away and is where the plants have been coming from they dont get a whole lot of selection though. I had read somewhere(dont remember where, it was during a google fest)that the tube plants werent aquatic so have been avoiding those. I will have to write the names of them down and google them nest time I go.
I wish I had a Petsmart, the closest one is an hour away but when I have stopped it was better than my Petco! I seem to live in an aquatic hobby desert. I wonder if they sell those online too...off to check that! Thanks guys
