not sure if this is the right part of the forum, mods if its not could you move it to the correct part of the forum.....
This week I have noticed that my plants are starting to look really dirty and the rocks, its like a brown colour on the rocks. I only setup the new scape 3 weeks ago and all plants are growing quite well apart now from this unsightly looking dirt (could be a start of some algae maybe). I do 50% water changes every sunday, as I am dosing Ei mixture, I dose 50 ml of the following solutions. every day (alternative days of course)...........
Macro Solution : consisting of, 4tsp Potassium Nitrate, 1tsp Potassium Phosphate, 6tsp Magnesium Sulphate mixed in 500ml of water
Micro Solution : 1tsp Chelated Trace Elements, mixed with 500ml of water
I dose Macro 50ml on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday & dose Micro Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Saturday no dose of anything, Sunday morning do 50% water change and start again with the dosing.
Heres what I go as a setup
Aquairium Size : 266 litre tank, 41"x24"x18".
Filter One : Aqua Zonic 1800LPH (although prob less with media)
Filter Two : Aqua Zonic 800LPH (although prob less with media)
Extra Flow : 3000 Lph Powerhead (only on when co2 is on)
Co2 : DIY Fire Ext Setup
Co2 Diffuser : Up External Atomizer (connected to filter two.
Heater : Hydor Externall 300 watt (connected to filter one)
Lighting one : 2 x 39w ( lighting time 1.30pm to 8.00pm)
Lighting Two : 2 x 39w ( lighting time 4pm to 9pm )
Plants : Sagittaria subulata Dwarf Grass, 5 x Aponogeton natans bulb, others that I need to get id on.
Ferts : Dosing 50ml of solutions made up of Aquarium Plant foods EI Starter kit.
Substrate : Molar Clay,
