Call me a thick-o for posting this Question but can you plant the plants in the containers they come in? the ones i have bought have a basket witch i'm sure the plant can grow throught?? they also act as a kind of ancor don't they???

I've recently started a new aquarium, also being new to this, and I've tried both ways. Advice I received was to plant in the containers they come in which helps to root the plants. I tried taking some out and they didn't last, so it seems this is the best option. With one, I left the planting sponge but took off the plastic pot and they are still ok.

Its better to remove the basket and the spongy material surrounding the roots before planting it. This helps the plant to establish its root system effectively.
