Hello

We installed some plants into our tank and put a layer of aquarium fertiliser at the bottom of the tank. We was told that this lasts for 2-3 years. My question is what do you do after this time to feed the plants?

You "Installed" some plants? :D

Normally people add fertilizers in liquid form, use root tabs and/or use planted substrates. If its said to only last 2-3 years, then common sense might provide a pretty accurate answer....replace it? :)

You can buy liquid feed which is usually a weekly dose you add when you do your weekly water change, or plant tabs which are little fertilizer tablets that you tuck under the substrate near the roots and they last around a month. Your plants will also get 'food' from your nitrates in the tank.
