I have an arcadia 35L nano which I have planted up, got some extra light in, and will shortly be looking at adding CO2 to. I also have a small group of rasbora in there which are great. I am just concerned that the filter is 1. a tiny bit unsightly in such a small tank, and 2. Maybe not up to the job as it seems caked in muck after a v short time. I have seen people talking about HOB filters, which my LFS seem to have in stock (Boyu and this one) .

My question is, what sort of lph should I look for on one of these things and will I be losing valuable CO2 from the 'waterfall' effect of these filters (I would be using a yeast based CO2 rather than injection).

If a HOB is out of the question, can anyone recommend an external that doesnt cost the earth but is up to the job!

Let me add, you can never over filter, this in mind the best 3 filters would be the eden 501 hydor prime 10 and the fluval 105 (not sure if that's the name, smallest one).

I've got a Eden for sale in the sale section.
