Your tank shows super potential! The movement of the grasses must really be something to see. What type of substrate are you useing?

ALASKA

Nice I have a Rio180 also there nice tanks although the filters are a bit underpowered, not a problem for you though as you have added the fluval. Have you added more lighting to yours?

Thanks for the responses so far guys

jams.alaskan - It's just run of the mill pea gravel I'm using, 25kgs if I remember rightly? Which i probably don't, it's quite fine, I'll try and get some sharper, closer in pictures to post to illustrate for you. Mmmm, the movement of the grass is rather hypnotic, I'm going to let them all grow to cover the surface at the back of the tank, to provide a shaded area

Zaphan58 - Yes, I've recently added a whole 'nother light bar to my tank, doubling the lighting available, and since then my plants have really taken off, in a big way. Shops in the UK ask around £80 for a new lightbar and bulbs, I looked on ebay, and bought a 2 months old one for £15 so it's worth looking around!

The overall aim for me is to have the four java ferns grow to fill out the right side, order a good bushy midground plant for the left hand side, to fill out that gap, also to add a rock or two in there to boot, and then to grow Eleocharis parvula as a carpet plant, leaving an area of gravel in the centre of the tank for the cories to play in.

Also to add around 5 more neons, 10 smallish tetras, the type I have yet to decide, and 2 rams
