Ok so I haven't had much luck with plants in the past. Today I bought a water rose and a cryptocoryne species (the guy at the pet shop didn't know what type of cryptocoryne it was). Any tips on caring for them? Then maybe I can be more successful this time :p

Just looked at pictures on the net and I think its cryptocoryne cordata

A tip on the crypt... It will first "melt" and look like its falling apart and dying, all the leaves will melt off and it will look miserable and you'll feel like pulling the whole thing out. But DO NOT TAKE IT OUT, even if every single leaf falls off. Eventually it should start to grow back leaves and come back to life. Well, unless it stays like that for a year or some crazy long time, then it might actually be dead. After that, they are easy.

Pretty easy plant to care for, but as Katty said, they may melt, it doesn't always happen but can sometimes, some species are more likely to melt than others I have found.

It shouldn't require any nutrients as long as your lighting isn't too intense.
