I just started these new plant tanks. I hope to grow and harvest from 4- 10's..and transplant to all my other tanks. The reddish colored leaves in 2 of the pics, is new growth since last tuesday. This is day 7 for these plants since arriving. There is new growth on most of the plants, as well as roots sprouting and greener foliage. I am amased at the difference with lighting, fertilizer, and co2 injection. I've always just had plants in my aquariums until they stopped growing... -_-

Wow they're growing well

I just get a bunch of plants every month or so when they die. Mind you, the coldwater tank's plants have been in for months and are all growing well. Never really put any plant food in or do anything special with them. Will be interesting to see what results you get :)

Good luck, fisher. So far you're doing better than I am. I kill plants so fast they don't even know what hit them. There's a guy in my betta club who has the most amazing live plant set ups and he always brings some for everybody, mine die immediately so I just stopped taking them

Very nice! I used to kill every plant I got until I asked a fish shop guy about plants, he pointed out to me some plants need more light than others and stuff like that (I was totally stupid about plants, Lol). So he showed me some of his low light plants (which is what I had at the time, now I'm on the low end of medium lighting) and I bought some and what a shock, they've survived for the most part, LOL. I've tried some other plants, some with success others not. I don't have CO2 since I have alot of aeration in my community tank, so CO2 would be pointless I've been told.

Keep us updated with weekly pictures :)

Linda

Thats not true shrks1...O2 has nothing to do with co2..
they don't mix. The only thing would be you lose some co2 because of the surface movement, but you would still benefit greatly. The do it yourself co2 is so easy, and the plants respond so well. I can't wait till a weeks up, so I can show next pic. New leaves, new roots, greener foliage. It basically 3-4 wats of light per gal, normall aquarium plant fertilizer, and co2 injection. They take off like they was in a greenhouse feeding on miracle grow. I have added several more plants, so my 2 tanks are filling up. I'll need more tanks within 2-3 weeks. I just got some frogbit, which is minature lilypads, only not lilys..:)

Well, it's 1 week later. I added a few more plants from the first pic, but you can see the growth on the same plants.

The other tank. The anacharis is growing across the tank, and the roots on the green and mauve plant are growing like crazy. This plant is trying to flower also.
