Ive seen a lot of people use plant pots (those little orange pots) for hiding places in their tanks... What do u have to do to make sure its safe to use? and how do u know if it is safe to use or not... ???

The terra cotta pots? I'm sure there's something I was supposed to do with it, but I just took the sticker off and stuck it right in my tank. Granted, this was a brand new one, not one that had plants in it before.

You can tell what rocks or clay items are safe to use in an aquarium by pouring a bit of vinegar on them. If they sizzle don't put them in the tank and always just check online to be sure. As long as the pots are washed clean at home and not painted I don’t imagine you'll have a problem.

Brand new never used terracotta pots are safe as is, just soak them overnight to get the air out of the clay. Don't use any pot that's had plants in it, you run the risk of introducing trace pesticides or other undesireable substances.

yer theres lots pots in my tank, infact its the main basis for my "decorations" they are just broken pots of my mums, i left them in hot water, and chucked them in, no probs, its all groovy!
