Howdy!

I have ordered an Eclipse Hex 5 to use as a Betta home.

I thought I could use the plastic pop bottle idea in the pinned Frequently Asked Questions topic to stop the water movement for him.

When it gets here, and it is set up I will visit my lfs (I have seen them changing water in the little betta cups , and I think they will help me select a good one) or my cichlid lfs.

I have not had a betta before. I suppose I will become a frequent visitor here. :D

Congrats, jollysue. You've made a wonderful choice

Any idea what type of boy you're going to get?

Thanks keddypie and wuvmybetta for the welcome

I haven't a clue. Right now they are just pretty. But I gather from what I'm reading they have faces

Nice, fancy, bright, and colorful, probably blues and reds, lots of fins. :D

Any suggestions?

I can make it planted. I have what is needed to get it started. What is their favorite plant? I can start an Amazon Sword right away.

I have an extra heater too.

My boys love Water Sprites, I have one of them floating in each tank, and they love to hide and play there ^_^ My girls prefer to hide on the ground-level plants, still preferring the water sprites... But they hide in the planted ones instead of the floaters... Which is strange, because they are in a 20 gallon high, and I imagine it's a pain in the butt to swim up 14 inches every few minutes to get air, rather then just stay at the top ^_^

How many in your 20 gallon, KeddyPie?

I'll watch for watersprite.
