I have a very big plastic jug that can hold 2.75gal. that i would like to ues. The tempature in my house is normally set at 68 degrees, so i'm planing on using a heater. My question is do you think it would be ok to put a heater in a plastic jug? -_-

No clue :S

I think you would need some way of heating the tank as they are tropical fish and so need temperatures that are at least 23ºc! And unless you can keep around the same temperature all the time then you will run into problems!

Those little heaters work out about £10 with postage then are they ok? I do need to sort my tanks out!

Sure, they're OK, provided the area where the bowl is located has a consistant room temperature. They raise the water temperature about 3 or 4 degrees above room temp.

If you want a dialed heater -- one where you can actually tell it to sit and stay at a specific temperature, and it will maintain -- you'll have to upgrade his home to a larger volume of water, as dialed heaters only work in 5+ gallons.

2.75g is a very good bowl size for a betta, though. Don't overly worry about it. :) If you can give him the stable ambient room temp, it'll be fine.
