plakat or imbellis

as the two types look so similar is there any way of telling which is which?

still trying to get a good picture for you guys, but still no luck.

You can tell easiest by the gill bars. The plakat will have a red gill bar, an imbellis will be green.

ok gonna sound dumb again here, but what is a gill bar?

It's located right behind their eye. It's generally the area that comes up and out when they flare (not the extra fold from underneath though, the gill bar is located on top)

lvlyldyuk - you shouldn't ever feel bad or dumb about asking any questions, cuz I bet there are a bunch of us (including myself!) who are learning lots about things we never knew before from the questions you're asking, too. It's all interesting stuff!

youre right about learning something new, if it helps i didnt know what a gill bar was and i still dont know what an imbellis looks like.
