Hi All,

I've had a pitbull plec for about a year now, lovely little chap!

I always thought by body shape and habitat that it was designed to live in areas of reasonable flow?

Just wondering where this was gotten from?

My link

'low flow'

anyone agree/disagree as mine lives in a high flow aquarium seemingly happily...

I love em too. Mine were brilliant in a 10g with dark sand and the spraybar pointed into the glass. Recently moved to a 20g long tank with spraybar pointed along the tank and they have significantly lightened in colour (putting that down to using playsand) but also seem less boistrous, so maybe something in that preferring low flow. I'm moving spray bar round a bit to find a happy medium at the moment.

The single one I kept lived happily in a very high flow tank, I was always on the lookout for more but unfortunately never found any.

Fantastic little fish and very Cory like it in it's behaviour.

Thanks :D I figured so much ;p

My local has a few left, so I'll be grabbing some on the weekend I think!

Do it, they like to be in groups from what I understand

My old one is still on the Planet Catfish species page, if they were available here I'd replace my Corys with them in a second :)

YAY! Looks just like mine :D

Any idea how long they live for btw? and chances of getting some to breed perhaps?
