I think one of my pitbull plec's in preganant!

I started off with three but unfortunately lost one and so have had just the pair of them for about a month now. I noticed one of them was getting pretty fat maybe two weeks ago and I'm pretty convinced she must be pregnant. I've never planned to breed them and so havn't researched what to do now at all!

Could anyone give me any pointers? First of all, any way in which I can confirm she's preggers and not just really fat (although I'm pretty convinced to be honest). Secondly, is there anything I can do to try and make sure everything goes okay and at least some of the babies survive. They're in a community tank right now (!!!). I do have a spare tank but it's a tiny little 5 gal and I'm not sure about moving her (don't want to distress her)

Any help gratefully received, thanks!

And note that, as with (nearly) all egg-laying species, there won't be any babies unless the male and the female are both present at the moment of laying and doing their bit.

I'll try and get a decent picture of one of our gravid females :)

They look like they have swallowed a pea (or marball in our ones case!!)
