I was re-doing some rockwork today, and took out some rocks for some room. When I put the rock on the floor a pistol shrimp came out of the rock. I tried to scoop it up with a small container but I accidentally broke off the "snapping" arm. It was still alive when I put it back in the tank but my question is, will it regrow that arm or is it just gonna die because it doesn't have it's "weapon" anymore?
I wish I took pictures but I'll just have to describe what it looked like. It was a clear shrimp about 3/4 of an inch (2 cm) with some green spots on it, and a big left claw (which is why I'm guessing it was a pistol shrimp, also when I heard some popping sounds before the accident).
