Pink Tailed Chalceus not having pink tail

I have had my pink tailed Chalceus named Tommy for around 3 months now. Water perimeters are excellent and he seems happy. The only thing is his tail has never taken any color. Is this something I can help? Thanks

It seems to me that your Chalceus is not a Chalceus, but another fish, possibly an Asian Cyprinidae. Nice fish! what more color you would like?
