Hi all a newbie here but i need a bit of advice from you pro's ! , I've just had babies!!! pink convict chiclids actualy! loads of em but over the past 24hrs they seem to have reduced in number !? theie in a mix fluval 1000 tank with mixed company inc fire mouths & general community fish & so to my questions .1,
do i need to put them in a seperate tank (although Dad is doing an exelent job at keeping the others away ) 2 how long before they breed again , 3 possible reasons for reduction in number & when can i clean my tank again ? Thanks alot in advance for any advice given

I have never heard of pink convicts! They sound cool! Congrats on the babies!
Firstly, it may be better to move them - although the dad may be doing a really good job looking after them he may get stressed after a while.
Secondly, sorry but I don't know anything about convicts really so I don't know when they will breed again.
Thirdly, possible reasons for reductions in their numbers is that 1) they may be getting eaten 2) The may be getting sucked into the filter etc as they are so small.

Oh, and you can still clean to tank, but you will have to be VERY CAREFUL! :lol:
...So actually, maybe it's not best to clean to tank until they're a tiny bit bigger! :lol:
