Skylar seems to have some pink coloring to the very end of his tail and dorsal fin... Is this fin rot or something?
He just doesn't seem as active as my other boys either, I finally got him to flare tonight, but he doesn't unclamp his fins.

What can I do? :dunno:

EDIT:
Here are some pictures:

no looks like red colour wash coming through.......ie somewhere in hre geno is red.. :D

Has the pink always been there, or is it just atrating to show up?

My workmates white veil's fins look like that when his water hasn't been changed when it's suposed to be...it's always been fin rot with him.

Might wanna up your water changes and maybe add some Aquarisol and/or salt.

Hmmmm - Jasper had viral hemmoraghic septicemia and that was just blood spots under the skin on his body... But that could just be a whole diff kind of septicemia than what you're talkin about...

I would have to guess too that it's finrot staring up from water conditions.

I just changed his water 2 days ago... I can do it again tomorrow. The pink just started showing up today.

I'll also add some salt. The little dude still hasn't eaten since I brought him home! I think he's depressed.

What are you trying to feed him? He could just not care for whatever it is, or whatever brand...they can be quite the picky eater sometimes. I know I have a few that refuse, no matter how long I let them go without eating, that just will NOT eat pellets.

If you don't have any, try some freeze dried or frozen blood worms...they usually can't resist frozen bloodworms lol.

I'm feeding Bio-Gold pellets. I am headed to the LFS tomorrow night and will get a package of frozen blood worms or brine shrimp. See if I can get the little guy to eat!

Just got his water ready for changing tomorrow... Cross your fingers!
