How long do you think it'll take for my Betta to forget about his old GF and start taking an interest in his new girlie. Ever since she died he's been meladramatically (Sp?) Collapsing on his leaves and searching in the plant pot for her. He doesn't blow bubble nests anymore and only flares at his new Girlie once a day or so. Who says fish only have a 7 second memory, he's got a memory like a bl**dy elephant. Poor Boy :(

I didn't see that your poor little betta had died, I'm so sorry about that.

It will take time I guess for him to get used to a new girlfriend. Maybe this new gal doesn't have the personality that your old one had? Maybe it was just too soon for her to be introduced?
I've never had to deal with this type of thing, but just throwing out things to think about.

As long as he's not attacking the new gal, I'd just give it time.

Are you sure he is pining and somthing else is not wrong just having lost one betta, i have never had a male pay no interest in a female, one thing you might want to try is putting a mirror so he can see his reflection he will think there is another male and may then, pay some interest to the female and he will flare at his reflection as well, thats if he is not a poorley fish..........
