Hi All.

Im back.... sooner than expected. I was planning to go uni in portsmouth but circumstances have changed and now im closer home ( living at home now - uni close by).

I broke down my tank rinsed everything in tap water ready for sale.... put my tank on ebay... then i changed uni and now im starting from scratch with the same tank....

NOT THE DREADED FISHLESS CYCLE AGAIN....

So does anyone have any mature filter media they can give me or sell me.

Ive started adding ammonia already,,, just want to give it that extra kick start.

Please contact me if you can help.

Thanks,

dave

im going to uni next year as well, had to lose my high tech :( , but my parents said they'd look after my other tanks, so thats all good... how long was the media dry for? , you might find it still has some bacteria on it, same with the sand (might be faster to cycle than you think), if not what sort of media were you after?

well i made the mistake of washing everything with tap water as i wanted to sell everything like new before i put it on ebay.

Ive got a canister filter with bio rings topped with blue course sponge in the middle and bottom trays. the top tray has cotton.

I bought some cotton from someone ages ago and they gave me some of theirs to help speed the cycle, but that was ages ago. Happy for a cut of anyones current media and happy to pay.

Cheers,

dave

i would help out but im not sure if it would survive posting

Ok, thanks Mike. I will keep you in mind. I will give it a couple of days to see if anyone has some available locally. If not then I will give you a few quid for a piece. Worth a try surely.
