I mentioned this in my long narrative about moving my fish, but I thought I'd ask here for a specific answer.

While moving one of the Pictus from the old tank to the new it managed to get it's right pectoral fin stuck in the net and as such I had to cut the net to allow him to swim on. My fiance tried pulling the net off but couldn't do it without ripping out the fin. :/

The little guy is swimming fine and doesn't seem bothered by his enlarged appendige. I was just wondering if it would be ok to leave it and hope it falls off, or should I try and catch him and have another go. :dunno:

I guess my main fear right now is that if it is too tight it may restict blood flow and cause problems with an infected wound...

Any thoughts?

I also had this problem when moving mine...i bought a net which was suspose to be "tangle free" and of course one of mine git stuck. I cut it and left him alone...eventually he lost the piece he was stuck to. Give him some time to do it by himself/ If after a few days you notice hes still caught id give it a second attempt.....Use a damp towel to hold him and a pair of needle nose plyers to remove the piece.....As long as its not wrapped around his body or restriciting how he swims i wouldnt wory about it to much.HIH

The net will eventually fall off, i have had pictus cats and other pimeloid catfish swim about quite happilly for a couple of months with pieces of net stuck to them and they have always worked free in the end.

Thanks for the re-assurance. If anything it looks like it is gradually working its way down the fin already.

(S)He's swimming fine, and it's quite nice because we can now definately tell one of them apart :D

Well, here's to a week or so of kicking back and enjoying all my weeks of hard work :flex:
