would they be okay in my 30 gal(look at sig) or shouldnt i get them?

I would have to say no. They gow to around 10" and recommend a 70g.

The thing with pictus cats is that they are better in groups of 3 or more....A single pictus will be shy and hide most of the time...a pair will fight and the dominant fish will prob. make the other one miserable....They are a great fish but i think that a pictus wont work out so well in ur tank....And ger87410 i'm pretty sure that a pictus wont get to 10" in the home aquarium....maybe 6-7" tops but no bigger...

When was the last time you saw a 10" pictus cat then? About 6 or 7 inch is the largest you can hope for in a standard size tank. You can keep 3 pictus cats in a 30g but they should be the only bottom dwellers.

i have a pair of pictus in a 40 gallon and they do not fight. they do play follow the leader alot though.

so can i get pictus cats and get rid of my bnoses.

pictus catfish will easily outgrow your 30g. The minimum tank size is like 50g I think. Remeber, that's 10" of fish there.

Pictus cats rarely grow larger than 6" in captivity, i have yet to see or hear of any pictus cat larger than this. Three pictus cats would be fine in a 30g (36x12x15") tank provided they were the only bottom dwellers and there is pleanty of swimming room.
