my lfs has got some pictus they are about 3 inchs and i have wanted some for ages and now i have the room :) could i put 3 in my 50g with my bgk?

Theres no reason why not, just make sure there is enough places for all the fish to hide in without fighting over territory.

I'll echo the above, my bgks camp with 5 pictus with very little interaction, though I would definately concur on the hiding spots. You will probably need around double the number of good spots than you have fish as they never want just one (but will usually end up next to each other after a while anyway...)

i have 4 pictus's in my 55 and they pretty much keep to themselves. you should be fine

I do indeed have two BGKs happily sharing a tank. they also share with 5 pictus. No real issues yet.

The BGK had a few hissy fits while sorting out a pecking order, but now sleep in neighbouring holes in the bogwood.

I got various pims with my bgk in the 150G and no problems. The BGK is actually one of the most active fish in the tank believe it or not!

ive only seen my bgk once since i got him at the weekend :( do they become less shy over time?ive even tried a stake out in the dark to try and get a look at him

Yes they should become alot less shy over time. I have always hand fed mine and I think that goes someway to getting fish like the BGK to become less afraid and more active.

They are almost blind and just use their electronic organ to sense things. I used a rod with bits of cockle of whitebait on the end and progressively moved onto hand feeding.
