Pictus catfish?

I am thinking about getting a pictus cat but still don't know if I can keep just one and still keep it happy. Also, I've heard various things about how big they get. Is it four or six inches

Pimelodus pictus should be kept in groups of at least 3, if you cannot house this many then i would recomend you dont get one, single pictus cats are shy and reclusive and behave nothing like they would in the wild.

Yes, i had 1 for awhile and he just hid all the time, i bought another 3 and they were schooling and swimming around all the time, well near when they lights were going out. They are GREAT fish, get some if you can house them!
