This is my Bettas 21.6 litre. I decided to go planted for him. I think I bought two much of the palnts at the back but hey ho.

At the back is Aquafleur Gymnocoronis Spilanthoides which I'm hoping will grow nice and tall and hide everything at the back.

In the middle there will be a piece of bogwood with a Bonsai Anubias attached to it (that's on it's way)

At the front there is Micromanthemum Umbrosum. I got one pot of that and broke it up into 3 and I'm hoping it will spread across the bottom of the tank.

It's only been done this morning. So what do you think? Does it look ok for a first time? Any suggestions?

This is what it was like before. It had a fake tree in there which I quite liked.

Which look do you think will be best?

hey, that doesnt look bad! i'm going for a planted tank when i get my betta (soon hopefully)

anytime x

that foreground plant will eventually grow like moss over the stones - it will look even betta (lol) then!

Is that large black thing the filter? it looks huge in that tank, must be something smaller you can put in there? Does look a lot better without the bling :) natural habitats all the way for me :good:

If it were my tank, i'd swap out the filter for a little Aqua Flow 50 wich you can get off ebay or in any Maidenhead Aquatic shop. I would also get rid of the bubbles, i think its a little over kill in a tank that size. The filter would ripple the surface enough to oxygenate the water. Plus the noise of the air pump would annoy me!

Other than that, really good effort, love the black sand :)

Oh believe me I HATE that filter. I had a built in filter and pump in the hood but it broke and the only thing small enough available in teh shops near me that day was tha Fluval U1. Thanks for the coomments on the plants, I'm hoping it will look better once they grow a bit. But I do miss those blingy stones though lol
