Picture Size

Ok, I just wanted a moan really but an answer would be nice

When I upload pictures to photo bucket I make them messge board size (640 x 480) which means they fit perfectly onto a massage board. So why does this site ( unlike any other) insist on making them just a little bit smaller. All it means is to be able to see the picture without a slight blur you have to click and view them individually instead of being able to view them all on the thread.

Just something I was upset about so can anyone explain.

(not complaining) but I must say I find it a tad annoying too. Why did that have to change ?
I know some people post enormous photos without resizing them, but those people are in the miniority.

I must say it 'annoys' me too.

Maybe it could be set a bit bigger so that only the ridiculously large ones get resized into the weird thing we have now?

I tend to use thumbnails most of the time, so those on dial up have a better chance of seeing the pics.

thats a good idea I'll probably be doing that myself now.

other members will probably want the problem fixed though

I'm glad it scales the pictures to fit now. It is really irritating to have phat threads because people don't adjust their pictures.

i was under the impression that you can restore the pictures to their original size by clicking (somewhere) on the scaled-down version

yeah i actually like the change to re-sized pics, saves me the hassle of having to do it and means you can always see pics.

don't feel like it's just sizing yours down pointlessly by a few pixels, it'll be more designed for massive picture, there will just be a cut off size and anything over that gets resized.

You have no idea how much I love this automatic resizing in terms of POTM competitions. It saves me so much work.

It is annoying how they sometimes lose quality though. I suppose the people either need to click to see the full size, or perhaps you could resize them a little more so they are small enough? Sorry, I know this doesn't really help much.

I understand that they have to be resized,my complaint is more about the resizing I suppose. I don't really mind but I suggest you change the resizing to the 640 x 480 which is the regular message board size and the size that photobucket resizes the picture to so they are suitable for forums.

It isn't a problem really but what i would like to know is why the resizing doesn't resize to 640 x 480.

I personally love the resizing. Before TFF put that in you had to scroll vertically AND horizonally. It was anoying....

and yes, dial-up still exists . I have it at home but luckily I have cable at college. That and we are finally getting F.O where I live. (quite the jump)
