Ok, I want to invest in another tank as I've caught the bug for this hobby.

Problem is, space. I seem to have nowehere to fit a large aquarium!

I've caught sight of www.livingpictures.co.uk and while these look fantastic, I'm wondering if a fish can have a good life in an aquarium 14cm wide.

Opinions please.

IMO as long as the fish has a maximum full grown size of no more than 2" then i dont honestly see a problem. I used to have one of these with small shoal of neons and couple of small guppys in and never had any problems. All fish were healthy. Only thing was did have to clean out alot. Just to insure the water parameters stayed perfeect.

IMO those things are totally unacceptable for fish keeping. That's barely 5" thick. Even small fish (under 2") need room to swim. By the time you some type of decorations in it, there won't be any room to swim. And why in the world would you want to spend almost $450 on a 7 gallon tank. Over here you can buy a 10 gallon glas tank at Petsmart for $10. After adding filters, gravel, etc. you could easily buy at least 15 tanks.

I used to have one of those as well. I had a 7 neon tetra's in it and it looked really really nice. The neons had plenty of space to turn around and were pretty happy.

I had it for around 1 year before getting annoyed at the difficulty in cleaning it and doing water changes.

So although my picture aquarium looked fab, I took it down and concentrated on my 30Gallon tank.

They are only suitable for neons and not much else, therefore IMO they are a waste of money.

mabe get a small hex or corner tank. That is a way of making spacei wouldnt try a picture tank.It would be very hard to clean and the fish have little room

There are no fish small enough to live happily in a picture tank. Mabye some very small shrimp or even a few ADFs would be happy, but make a thread about the specific species of invert you want to keep. If you managed to light one appropriately with 2 T5 lights, you could theoretically grow some corkscrew val in it to go with your inverts - that would be kind of neat.

Although, its cheaper and better to get a 10 gallon glass tank.

although they look cool, they seem to be expensive, you should be better off buying a smaller tank, and your fish will have a better life. Just imagine yourself living in a "long" room with only 1 meter of space to turn around

Isn't the fact that they are exceptionally ugly enough to put you off?

Find space for a "proper" tank if you want something bigger.
