Here are some photos of my 24G tank, 8 kilos LR, 5 x turbo snails and 4 red legged hermies. Today I got home and the algae bloom is pretty bad all across the sand!!! Will add some Rowaphos soon ;)

Tank looks great, what are ya thinking of stocking it with?

Thanks all ;)

The snails munched a lot of the sand algae last night looks a lot better in there.

We may add some more LR in time but not at the mo I don't think. Levels all fine so don't want to go upsetting things....... obviously may need more to create better biological filter so will see how it goes.

Hoping to put a tank bred percula, a watchman goby and an orchid dottyback in there.

That looks like the maxi-jet powerhead right? So you use the small strainer and not that air tube thing?

Hi I am brittlestars husband, yes that is the maxijet in there they are a lot quieter than the seio's

The only problem I find with the powerhead is that we have recently added our first percula and it breaks my heart to watch him get blown around by the current but I guess he has to get use to it.

I have angled the head so the main force of the current bounces of the back glass first which has helped him :)

O ok thanks, I think I'm going to use the small strainer too, don't see why I would need the large one.

LOL, looking more I have the same thermometer and mag-float as you do too. Be careful with the thermometer, the suction cup is glued onto the thermometer, I broke mine by accidently pulling it off the glass without the suction cup.

It'll get used to it and find parts of the tank where there is less flow, my almost lies on top of the powerhead to sleep. Remember, a little maxjet powerhead it fairly low flow compared to the water movement of the sea over a reef! :p

You'll need to be very careful of aggression when adding a second clown, ideally it would have been better to add them at the same time.

I'd think again about more rock, you'd be much better off with double that amount unless you are planning to stock very lightly.

***EDIT***

I'd recommend moving the rocks away from the glass / back a little, just enough to get a scraper or something down there.

We did get both clowns at the same time, I thought this should be ok as they are still babies and one of them will now change sex to female :)

We are going to get more rock before any more inverts or fish, probably this week. I was just waiting to see what chemical levels done and they have all stayed at 0 so im very happy.

when we get more rock we will do some aqua scaping bearing in mind where we will eventually want to place our corals.

The problem with adding more LR after you've added livestock is that if there is any die-off you risk an ammonia spike which could be fatal. Try to minimize the risk by making sure the rock is fully cured, ask how long the lfs has had it curing. Also minimize the time it spends out of water. Do not buy over the internet as this will increase the likelyhood of die-off.
