started by drilling the back part of the hood,50 holes so the leds pushed in (tight fit)cost £5.00

then i took the light gear out off the front of the hood and fitted the two led units,held in place by magnets so more could be added
72 leds in each unit,cost with transformer £20.oo

Yeah,looking good-what does it look like with just the blue lights on, only from a distance?
 
can do it a lot cheaper i have 120 that i set up for 7 no drilling needed and higher intensity LEDS than the ones you have used

I agree Nitro. I am intrigued to see how much more 'high intensity' anyone can get from 3-5mm LEDs. lol

i assume this setup is for looks only. are those LEDS really strong enough to grow plants etc?
 
i kinda assumed but thought i ask the question. they look stunning by the way, your tank looks really nice.
